It was around a quarter-of-five in the dawn of the morning with the sounds of revolutionary change sweeping Muslim lands, my ears submerged with the sounds’ of so-called critics’ and “experts” that “The Muslim Street” ™ was born.

The corporate owned media in this country has created the illusionary picture that by trotting out “Westernized” critics and experts often of international Muslim hue” that they are delivering the view from the streets. They are not. Two things are glaringly obvious about this flawed overused formula:

  1. The viewer (whom is seeking alternative information is bombarded by propaganda and agenda’s
  2. The reporting and perspectives don’t represent the daily discussions that are bantered about at very informed levels of the masses of The Muslim Street.

I speak with hundreds if not thousands of Muslims’ worldwide and the overriding theme is a rejection and “tuning out” of the western media that profits’ off of demonizing Muslim and Muslim life. I envision a daily periodical, a place where Bloggers and Free-Thinkers from The Muslim Street will gather and have an open dialogue on what the true issues are that they are not only facing from a 30,000 foot level by also what matters’ in their daily lives.

The Muslim Street ™ will serve primarily as a new vehicle away from the stale models’ that exist into a true collaboration and open debate about the issues. “The Muslim Street” ™ will seek to honestly represent the street and its ideas’ be it Senegal, be it The Maghrib, be it Asia, be it the Middle East or be it Harlem. The Chinese say… ’may you live in interesting times’. We cannot deny that this era…a period of history unfolding before our eyes must be shaped by different perspectives that are true to the people. So as we launch The Muslim Street ™ as a concept, a progressive organ and vehicle to reshape how the changing world will view Muslims' may you too live in interesting times.
